Youtube Friday: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
The MusicFog crew recently captured this great video of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band burning up “My Walking Shoes,” a song co-written (with Paul Williams) and originally performed by Jimmy Martin. The NGDB’s recording of this song with Martin was one of the highlights of the first Will the Circle Be Unbroken collection in 1972, so it’s cool to hear Jeff Hanna paying respects with some Martin style vocal licks around the 1:45 mark. Oh, and I guess the musicianship isn’t too shabby either.
