Whitney Duncan’s iPod Shuffle Giveaway

whitney duncanYou might know Whitney Duncan from “My World Is Over,” the 2004 duet with Kenny Rogers; the music video saw a fair bit of play on CMT. Or you might know her from the 2007 season of Nashville Star, where she parlayed a fifth place finish into a Warner Bros. Nashville record deal. Most likely, though, you know her from the three singles she has released for the label over the past year or so: “When I Said I Would,” “The Bed You Made,” and “Skinny Dippin’.”

Things People Are Saying

  1. Padget Crossman says:

Whitney is super hot, & so nice too! She is one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter

  2. David Jones says:

When I first heard “My World Is Over”, which was very late (2008), I played it about fifteen times in 24 hours! No lie! I love that song, she and Kenny Rogers sounds great in it, and I think it should have been a much bigger hit than it was. The video’s great too.

  3. Her music is hit and miss, but I do enjoy “When I Said I Would.”

  4. I love Whitney’s music video for “Skinny Dippin” and I never even turned on the sound! That is like totally awesome dude! (lol)

I’ve seen Whitney perform live and she puts on a good show, but that was just before her EP came out so there was nothing to buy! Now I can hopefully remedy this situation!

  5. Whitney was really nice that one time we met as I followed her from show to show and city to city breaking through the window of her…

    Oops.

  6. Her voice is sometimes reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt’s and that’s a very good thing. She could do well with some solid material.

  7. Whitney is a hottie, simple as that. I’m looking forward to more stuff from her, pictures/videos/appearances as well as music.

  8. I saw Whitney play in the Celebrity Softball Game during CMA Fest. She turned out to be quite a catcher, as she easily fielded two pop-ups. Man, she looked cute in that jersey…

  9. I watched the video for “Skinny Dippin’” with the sound turned down. It was nice, I guess.

  10. I like “Skinny Dipping” alot, and she has a very, very nice voice.

  11. I remember the Kenny Rogers duet, but I must have missed her on Nashville Star – though I was never a regular viewer anyway.

I don’t have a funny or even corny joke, but I will say that I really liked the song ‘When I Said I Would’ and even the Rogers duet. She’s a mighty fine looking lady too.

  12. Being beautiful and having a great voice, one would think Whitney would be a surefire success. Unfortunately, she just hasn’t had that big breakthrough hit. Even her latest single, Skinny Dippin’, which has had its video in fairly heavy rotation, has just barely managed to crack the top 50. Of course, Skinny Dippin’ is also my least favorite of her singles.

That being said, I’ve really enjoyed her other singles, especially “The Bed You Made.” It’s a shame that song never did anything. She even managed a good cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” so it’s apparent that the girl can sing. She just needs that one song to break her through, and I hope she gets it. She deserves it.

And to say one last nice thing about her, I think it’s great that she’s doing this contest. Hopefully it’ll get her name out there a bit more. At the very least, it’ll get her music to at least a couple of people who win. Beyond that, it’s just a cool thing to do. So thanks Whitney, and thanks WB Nashville and Country California. :)

  13. Paul W Dennis says:

Ms Duncan is quite attractive – I think with better material she could be a terrific performer

  14. I liked Whitney when she was on Nashville Star! And I like her songs now…the few that I’ve heard. When I Said I Would is my favourite. Hope she does well!

  15. I think she is cute and has a wonderful soul! I would be very happy if the ipod came with the song “skinny dipping” on it! Its my fave.

  16. I really like Whitney Duncan. When I heard “When I SaidI Would” for the first time I just had to download it! I hope that she does well.

  17. LOVE U AND UR MUSIC SO MUCH WHITNEY UR THE BEST SO HOPE I WIN(=

  18. Allen Lichtig says:

Whit always goes above and beyond how any celebrity treats us when we go to see her perform.

  19. jason strickland says:

Love Whitney. The most unique voice in all of country music today. Love WISIW and Skinny Dippin…can’t wait for a full CD!!

  20. I’ve followed Whitney from the very beginning with the Kenny Rogers duet to Nashville Star to where she is now. I completely love her sound and the songs she’s put out. Amazing talent!

  23. I’ve enjoyed Whitney’s music since I saw her on Nashville Star & “When I Said I Would” is definitely one of my fave songs! & her tweets are always fun to read :)

  24. Whitney is one of the nicest most down to earth people out there she has an amazing talent and I hope to meet her one day :-D

  25. Chuck Fiello Jr. says:

How about a joke and a nice comment about Whitney, who is living proof you can be absolutely gorgeous and sing like an angel as well.

Now the joke:A blonde walks into a casino and agrees to place $5000 on one number if they will let her roll the dice and topless. Everyone agrees. She pulls her top down, rolls the dice and then picks up the money and thanks everyone for their time. The dealer turns to the guy next to him asks, “she won right?” The other guy says, ” How would I know? I never saw the dice.” Moral or the story, not all blondes are as dumb as you think.

  26. LOVE Whitney Duncan. I first saw her on Nashville Star. At first I just loved her voice, then on songwriter night I saw exactly how talented she was. She had all of my votes! But unfortunately that wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition :( After she sang Skinny Dippin on Nashville Star’s songwriter night, she was eliminated. I’ve bought all of her music since then. She truly is an amazing artist, songwriter, and singer. Little By Little has been on my favorites playlist for months!

  27. I love that whitney is super talented, and she truely cares for her fans. Shes always doing interviews online, and keeping fans updated on twitter.

  28. i would go skinny dippin with whitney anyday….just sayin

  29. Cute gal, good singer.

  30. A joke Whitney told at one of her shows:

A woman called into a radio station and requested to hear “Skinny Dippin.’” The radio DJ asked her if she liked to go skinny dippin and she goes, “I used to, but now I go chunky dunkin!”

Everytime I hear “Skinny Dippin’” I think of that story! :)

  31. Alyssa Geller says:

I love Whitney Duncan because she’s awesome and amazing and Im obsessed with her music! She is the epitome of beauty and talent and she has a wonderful personality that shines through in her music. I am proud to be a Whitney Duncan fan. She loves her fans and we love her right back. Every time she tweets to me, even if it’s about something random, it totally turns my day around and makes me feel like I am her good friend.

She loves her fans and she always puts us first. She makes us feel important and I love her for that.

Each one of her songs speaks to every mood I’m in. If I’m going out for a night on the town, I listen to So Sorry Mama. If I am mellow, I turn on Little By Little or Away. And for fun? Skinny Dippin of course!

I am a HUGE fan and I love that girl to death! She always manages to put a smile on my face when I’m having a bad day and I appreciate her so much for that.

Thank you for having this contest. It’s good for Whit fans to come on here and express what they love about her. She is amazing, beautiful, talented and about a million other positive adjectives! Love ya Whit!!!

  32. Janine Boland says:

I like Whitney so much that I took 2 days off from work drove 6 hours to Rochester NY to see her perform. To get tickets I had to contact the radio station because I did not have the grocery story within 4 hours from my house – so I had to jumo through hoops to get tickets to the show, and drove the 6 hrs to watch her perform for 20 minutes. It was SO worth it – our seats were soo close we were actually to close to take pictures! But hanging out with Whitney after the show for a while was totally worth it!!!!!! Shes the Best!

  33. Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

    Officer: Ma’am, you were speeding.

    Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Woman: I’d give it to you but I don’t have one.

    Officer: Don’t have one?

Woman: Lost it 4 times for drunk driving.

Officer: I see…Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

    Woman: I can’t do that.

    Officer: Why not?

    Woman: I stole this car.

    Officer: Stole it?

Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

    Officer: You what?

Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want
    to see.

The Officer looks at the woman, slowly backs away to his car, and
calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior
officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma’am, could you step out of your vehicle please!

The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this
    car and murdered the owner.

    Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you please open the trunk of your car,
    please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma’am?

Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers.

    The first officer is stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving
    license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and
hands it to the officer. The officer snaps open the clutch purse and
examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma’am, one of my officers told me you didn’t
have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked
    up the owner.

Woman: Betcha the lying bastard told you I was speeding too.

  34. Whitney, you rock girl !!! Keep the faith, 2010 will be good to you :) Here is a bad, corny joke for you:

    Knock Knock
    -Who’s there?
    little old lady…
    -little old lady who?
Hey, I didn’t know you could yodel

  35. Whitney Duncan is the new Faith Hill! She is gorgous and knows how to rock out! Every song she sings sounds different and is very addicting!
