During their time in Las Vegas for the ACM Awards show earlier this month, country singers Keith Urban, James Otto, and Jack Ingram met over coffee at a Hard Rock Cafe to debate the merits of their shared hairstyle. The three stars have reportedly made a habit of getting together to commiserate in recent months.

“When I’m performing under bright lights and my hair gets sweaty, it sometimes sticks to my forehead. Continually whipping my head back to readjust it quickly becomes tiresome” offered Ingram. Urban nodded in agreement, adding “It takes lots of time and conditioner to maintain the light, flowing appearance of my – excuse me gentlemen, our – hairstyle. People with short hair just don’t understand.” Otto chimed in: “It also gets really itchy, and a few times I’ve even found small spiders nesting in there.” Noting the baffled expressions on the faces of Ingram and Urban, Otto quickly added: “Just kidding, guys. That didn’t really happen. Gotcha.” He then scratched his head and lumbered off to the restroom with a concerned expression on his face.

The meeting took an unexpected turn when Ingram spontaneously suggested that they all agree on a new style and find a local barber shop. After several minutes of discussion, they shook hands and happily scuttled off in search of a qualified hairdresser. According to some eyewitness reports, they were seen walking down the Las Vegas Strip hand-in-hand with matching flattops later that afternoon.

The radical image change by three of country music’s most popular performers is expected to set a new precedent for men’s fashion in Nashville.
