According to virtually everyone in attendance, “Little Rock” and “House That Built Me” songwriter Tom Douglas outdid himself with his Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction speech last night. Here’s but a small sampling of the rave reviews:
So cool to see Tom Douglas trending on Twitter! That was the acceptance speech of a lifetime. #holywow

I think Tom Douglas should've dropped the mic after his speech last night. I woke up still thinking about how great it was, how great he was

Just finished reading the #SongwritersHallOfFame induction speech from Tom Douglas. This should be mandatory reading for any songwriter.

Thanks to YouTube user Katherine Douglas – the daughter Katherine he thanks early on – the speech is now available for the rest of the world to enjoy as well. It’s a piece of work at least as stunning as some of Mr. Douglas’ finest songs.
