Jeannie Brannon and Miss Leslie have been recent discoveries for me. Jeannie has been around for at least 20 years but is very good and should have been successful earlier

I'm gonna have to say Ryan Beaver. This kid just started making a little ruckus around Austin. I hear a ton of new stuff, but he strikes me as one that has a long career ahead of him. If you haven't heard any of it, go check out Under the Neons. That is a great song! I'm willing to bet that his name with become familiar among the Texas scene real soon.

[...] Head over to Country California for another chance to score a free copy of The Devil Makes Three’s new album Do Right Wrong. C.M. Wilcox described the album as: A vintage mixture of string band, ragtime, folk and blues shot through with a youthful vitality, this could be the soundtrack to your next tipsy night on the town. Fans of Justin Townes Earle and Old Crow Medicine Show are particularly advised to pick this one up posthaste. [...]

I also just learned about Aubrey Auld when doing a search for Bill Chambers (Kasey Chambers' dad who is also a great artist). I love the stuff she does that can be found on a compilation called Reckless Garage Sale, which, incidentally, includes Bill Chambers too. I've looked into her regular albums and really love the country stuff, but have been picking and choosing tracks due to some pop-ness on some of them.

Two of my new discoveries are James McMurtry and Lucero. I don't know how I missed out on either for so long. Better late than never, I suppose. A little more "rock" than a lot of the things I usually listen to, but I am enjoying both a great deal. I can't stop playing "Raising Hell."

I'm glad you have discovered Charlie Robison, Leeann. I saw him do a show at the Hills Cafe in Austin about two years ago. It was one of the best concerts I have ever attended.

I recently heard tell of the band "Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass-Kicking Team" and I loved the name of the band so much I hoped their music would live up to that great name. Fortunately it does.
