Songs Involving Telephones (Playlist)

I don’t like to give too much weekend homework, so I think another obscure playlist is in order. Enjoy your break!

  • Austin – Blake Shelton
  • Is That a Tear – Tracy Lawrence
  • Mama Don’t Forget to Pray For Me – Diamond Rio
  • As Soon As I Hang Up the Phone – Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn
  • I Can Still Make Cheyenne – George Strait
  • The Number – Vern Gosdin
  • If a Man Answers – Toby Keith
  • Callin’ Baton Rouge – Garth Brooks
  • Callin’ Caroline – Darryl Worley
  • Coca Cola Cowboy – Mel Tillis
  • If You Had Called Yesterday – Andy Griggs or Julie Roberts
  • Here’s a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares) – Travis Tritt
  • Why Haven’t I Heard From You – Reba McEntire
  • Why Don’t That Telephone Ring – Tracy Byrd
  • Trouble On the Line – Sawyer Brown
  • One Last Time – Dusty Drake
  • Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler) – Alabama
  • I’m Already There – Lonestar
  • Drink and Dial – James Otto
  • Who Do I Know In Dallas – Merle Haggard
  • Where Are All the Girls I Used to Cheat With – Keith Whitley
  • I May Hate Myself In the Morning – Lee Ann Womack
  • Last Call – Lee Ann Womack
  • When and Where – Confederate Railroad
  • The Remember Song – Tom Rush (aka one of the coolest things ever on Youtube)

Admittedly, this is more of a brainstorming exercise than a playlist I’d actually want to hear. I’m sure I missed a bunch. If you can think of any others, feel free to add them in the Comments section.

New posts, by email, whenever we’ve got ’em.

I love Sammy Kershaw’s (still got her number but…) “I Can’t Reach Her Anymore”… great song.

  2. John Maglite says

Thanks for the additions thus far. I wasn’t familiar with the first two and can’t believe I forgot about the third. That’s one of my favorite Sammy Kershaw songs.

  3. Leeann says

I don’t know the Terri Clark song, but I highly recommend the Martina one. It’s from her best album, Wild Angels, before she started vocally showboating all the time.

As for the Sammy Kershaw song, I love it! It’s the first Kershaw song that I heard.

  4. James Otto Sweet Heart says

Thank you so much for including “Drink & Dial” from my most favorite singer, I love James Otto SO much!!! (big smile)

God bless you and him always!!!
