I don't know about Davis as a person, but I am fond of "Oh Lord, It's Hard to Be Humble."

This is great! I don't know much about Mac Davis, but what I've heard - or rather, read in various books - is that he was pretty much unanimously despised in Music City and beyond. A perfect candidate for this site.

Also, I didn't know he was a writer on 'In The Ghetto'. Who knew this would be a learning experience? I can't help but like that song - especially the cheesy Dolly Parton recording. She also recorded a duet with Mac on her White Limozeen album that's a fun listen.

Cute - Mac actually was an important person - not necessarily as a country artist but as a personality and songwriter (his biggest copyright was "In The Ghetto" recorded by the King)

You know Mac used to host a live Sunday night radio show here on LA's then Top 40 country station (before it was sold to Emmis Broadcasting out of Indianapolis) and the same thing would happen week after week! What in the hell is going on here! (lol)
