Rant: I am really starting to get annoyed with the likes of Martina, Reba and now Sugarland (if that’s really what they were doing, which I doubt.) and their “progressiveness”. Its preachy, not progressive. These stars seem to be trying to appeasing people and conform to the movement of the year in Hollywood, rather than trying to change country music’s/fans’ image. I’m sick of the whole thing to be honest. Gay celebrities/supporters haven’t done themselves many favors trying to change people’s minds about them (i.e. Perez Hilton/ Carrie Prejean fiasco). The gay community (or what I read of it) also has a bad case of ‘if you’re not for us, you’re against us.’ That isn’t helping either. /rant.

Wow, and I thought Sugarland’s teaming up with the B52s was just an attempt to garner a little cheap publicity while forsaking country music in favor of tired ’80s relics. In fact, it was a landmark gay rights moment that forsook country music in favor of tired ’80s relics.
