About the Big Kenny comment … Being forced together like an arranged marriage seems to yield success. It happened with Brooks & Dunn and they stayed together for nineteen years. All it takes is a A&R man to take these facts a bit further by strolling round Nashville for a couple of buskers and ordering them to sing together! (Come to think of it, maybe that’s how Big and Rich REALLY got together!) For now, I’m just waiting for John Rich to go back to Lonestar(!).

Wow, Steve Earle’s comments about Obama just make me feel so much better! Well except for the fact the entire response should have gone “Trust me, Obama’s not a socialist because he’s really an extreme commie marxist bastard trying to pass himself off as a moderate populist. P.T. Barnum was right and those folks eat up the propaganda we dish out through NPR and the mainstream media as if it was factual! If only Joseph Goebbels were still alive to witness our triumph!”. Besides, do you really expect a dedicated “fellow traveler” to rat out his comrade and spoil the successful mass deception of the “useful idiots”? Let’s be realistic here…

Good thing David Letterman isn’t running Nashville these days! On the other hand considering the current state of mainstream country music maybe he has a valid point! (lol)

Exactly. It also seems to me that Big Kenny notices that John Rich’s biggest problem is his own inflated ego which is only aided by all the alcohol he drinks at his private bar.

This quote from the Big Kenny interview is pretty telling:

“He’s out there doing crazy stuff, but I still love him,” Alphin said. “We are like night and day. He’s political, and I just like to get things done. Right now, we meet onstage, that’s it. Once he gets his other stuff straight, we will sit down and write some songs.”

Sounds like Big Kenny is saying that John Rich is a lot of talk.:)

Country music today is what pop was back in the ’70s.
So I guess she’s saying this is a good thing. Sounds like more BS rationalization to me. It’s worth asking how many people that mentality has driven away from country music in recent years.
I’m gonna have some serious fun with this one when I get more time….

I was a little surprised by Letterman’s comment too. I was watching that show. He just kept on talking about how great that song is, and I knew Billy Currington was his guest that night and I kept thinking ‘he can’t be talking about ‘People Are Crazy’, is he?’, but sure enough, he was. I lost a little respect for Letterman that night.
