I havn’t heard the Daryl Worley album and don’t plan on it, didn’t know there was a collaboration with Jamey johnseon et al on there. Not sure what to think of all these collaborations lately. I heard that along with John Mayer on her next album, Taylor is also has a duet with Jamey Johnson on a song with “Tennessee” in the title. Been kept very hush-hush, neither of them has said anything about it (publicly).

I don’t think the Worley album is great or anything, but I don’t think it necessarily represents everything that’s wrong with country music either. He’s not one of my favorites, but he’s certanly not even close to one of the worst offenders. That song with all the guest spots (John Anderson, Mel Tillis, Bill Anderson, Jamey Johnson, etc) was a waste of great talent though.

I don’t think Holly Williams needs to worry about what she says as her new album has a sound and style ill suited to Airhead Country radio. As thoughtful singer/songwriter folk country it’s about as welcome these days on mainstream country radio as the swine flu. Jamey Johnson cracked the Top 40 radio door open with “In Color” but I don’t expect Holly to slip in the same way.

Wow, I have something in common with Steve Earle? YIKES! (lol)

That Blake Shelton tweet reminds me of ads a local radio station is airing regarding a Father’s Day promotional event. They ask “What do Dad’s really want most? The answer is hot wings, beer, and boobs!”. The event is being held at a local Hooters…

As for the quote “Roy Orbison said it best: when you grow up in Texas, you have to use your imagination for everything in life because there is nothing to look at.” That must have been prior to Miranda Lambert coming of age! (lol)
