Pat Green, singer of the 2003 smash “Wave on Wave,” has recorded a duet with pop star Ke$ha as the lead and title single for his upcoming album, Fool 4 U. A bouncing three-minute ditty about a mismatched love affair, it features the glittery singer of hits “Tik Tok” and “We R Who We R” as the object of Green’s affections, trading verses and singing backup on the chorus.
Green, who in recent years has grown away from his roots as a Texas favorite to become a pop-country star, believes the pairing will bring his music to a wider audience. “Man, I’ve heard the ‘sellout’ talk so much I don’t even care… I’m happy to sell out…. sell out bars and 500 seat high school auditoriums nightly!” Pat joked. He added: “I’ve never used auto-tune before, but it was fun doing shots, trading makeup tips and singing with Ke$ha; she’s a unique talent.”
Beginning with his major label debut several years back, Pat Green has steadily traded the independence and grit of his earlier music for the sheen and commercial appeal of Nashville country through four subsequent releases. Continuing this trend, his new record features no less than three guest appearances (Ludacris, Jason Aldean and the aforementioned Ke$ha) and even contains one song Green describes as “Warrant meets George Strait.”
For her part, Ke$ha seems a little confused about her role. “Like, I think I sang some words about some love and stuff for some big-headed guy,” she laughed while sipping a daiquiri. “He was kinda cute, mmmm.”
At press time, Austin music retailer Lone Star Music said they had no plans to stock Fool 4 U. The single heads to Top 40 and country radio for adds December 28th.

Aldean to Release Country Remix of “She’s Country”
Nice dig at Aldean, who is kind of a dork.
I might listen to “Warrant meets George Strait”. I can’t imagine how it would sound. George could cover “I Saw Red”, perhaps.
Good stuff, as always.

It’s just like The Onion to copy us and falsify the date information to make it look like we copied them. What a bunch of hacks.
