Meet Sara Petite

It’s not often I find an artist I like this much based in my own home state (albeit way south of here), so please hit the Play button and give me the honor of being the guy who introduced you to the music of Sara Petite. Also, keep an eye out for my review of her latest album… as soon as I remember how to write reviews.

Here’s Sara Petite and The Tiger Mountain Boys doing “I Ain’t Your Baby.” Good stuff.

Sorry CM but Sara was recently featured on another country blog (I think it was Country Standard Time or That Nashville Sound maybe?), so this is not my first encounter. I like her sound to a point but it just doesn’t grab me. There is just something missing and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Hmm…

Now LA has a cool gal named Leslie Stevens that fronts her band “Leslie & The Badgers” that makes some nice music. Her songs “Los Angeles” and “Room Full of Smoke” off her latest album are top notch but the rest of the album doesn’t quite measure up to the promise offered by those two tracks. Dang.

I’ll take Leslie over Sara any day of the SoCal week and regional loyalty has absolutely nothing to do with it! (Okay, well maybe a little…)

Thanks so much for this! After watching the video, I took a listen to her “Lead the Parade” album. I really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to hearing her new album. Thanks again for the recommend.

Went to the show at the Grand Annex C.W. and it was great, if you have only heard her cd go see her live. She is a storyteller and they are funny too…. great songwriter.

Wow… loving this. This is not my first encounter with Sara, but I only heard her music for the first time yesterday. I knew her and her twin sister way back in school. Knew her sister better, but I went on a trip to the east coast with the both of them (and others)… not saying how many years ago lol. So happy for her and I wish her much luck with her talents :)
