Country music. Seriously.

Lee Ann Womack Soundcheck Giveaway

lee-ann-womack-soundcheck

Lee Ann Womack’s Call Me Crazy was one of my favorite country albums of 2008, so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give one lucky reader a Soundcheck prize pack that includes a copy of the album and an assortment of Suave products. (Do I need to figure out a way to tie those together somehow? Okay, here goes: as much fun as it is to wallow in real-country misery, you shouldn’t do so at the expense of personal cleanliness.)

Click the banner above to see Lee Ann Womack live in the Soundcheck studio, answering questions and performing some of the best songs from the new album. Then come back here and comment with your favorite Lee Ann Womack song for a chance to win. Already have Call Me Crazy? Win it for a friend. Christmas may be long gone, but it’s never a bad time to give the gift of good music.

Entries must be in by noon Pacific Time on Sunday, January 11. A winner will be chosen at random and announced shortly thereafter. Be sure to use a valid email address so that I can contact you if you win.

Stay clean and good luck!

Update: Winner announced here. Thanks for playing.

  1. Free Womack? I’m on it.

I watched the Soundcheck performances, they were good, but Keith Urban was sorely missed on “The Bees”.

Now asking me to pick a favorite is cheating, I love so many, but I’ll stick with “He Oughta Know That By Now”. It’s a great leaving song, with a great driving beat and is one of the most substantial up-tempo songs I’ve ever heard.

  2. Really hard to choose a favorite, but it’s probably “Twenty Years and Two Husbands Ago.”

  3. I have quite a few favourite Lee Ann songs, but I’m going to go with the title track to her 2005 album “There’s More Where That Came From.” In the song, the character knows she’s going to cheat again; she knows herself too well and is aware it’s inevitable.

  4. The first time I saw LeeAnn was at Jamboree in the Hills in OH, probably 1997 or 1998. Not sure. She looked terrified and her voice was not that strong for that crowd. So I pretty much wrote her off. And then came “I Hope you Dance.” WOW. But the best was yet to come. “Twenty Years and Two Husbands Ago” is it for me until the next great one. I love her music videos, too. Always excellent.

  5. I loved her with Willie on Mendocino County Line. And of course, The Fool breaks my heart every time.

  6. Oh, I’ll admit it: “I Hope You Dance.”

  7. “Mendocino County Line” with Willy. One of the most pure country singles played on maintstream radio in the past decade.

  8. It’s hard to narrow it down to just one, but… I guess I will settle on “Does My Ring Burn Your Finger.” Sooooo good!

  9. “Never Again, Again”…her first single totally hooked me.

  10. I would have to say “The Man that Made Momma Cry” -

  11. I’ll go with a wild card choice and admit to it being “Buckaroo”. My biggest disappointment with her greatest hits CD was the absence of that song from the roster. I won a “Call Me Crazy” prize package at another blog but in carrying on with the “Crazy theme” it did not include the CD! I got a CD booklet personally autographed by Lee Ann but no CD or jewel case to go with it. The coasters and stickers were okay, but the music is what I really wanted. Darn….

  12. My favorite is “A Little Past Little Rock.” The melody and–for want of a better term–the feel of the song is exceptional. It’s a song that stays with you.

  13. What Jaime said… “A Little Past Little Rock” is my favorite. I also really like “Why They Call it Falling.”

  14. I really like lots of her songs but my favorite is ‘Mendocino County Line’.

  15. I think my favorite is “I May Hate Myself in the Morning.”

  16. I really like her latest single “Last Call”, but my favorite would have to be “I May Hate Myself in the Morning”

  17. I May Hate Myself in the Morning.

  18. (Please leave me out of the giveaway – I’m just commenting :). I have plenty of Womack, believe me lol, so I’d rather someone else win it)

Thanks for promoting the Soundcheck performances. It’s awesome! You can also buy Mp3s of those here.

My favorite LAW song is either “I Hope You Dance” or “I Know Why the River Runs” (I love the traditional part of her the most, but for some reason, the popper ones ended up on top lol).

Rick, I also agree that “Buckaroo” should have been on the GH album. That’s like my second or third favorite from Lee Ann. I remember hearing it when I was a little boy.

  19. I really like “The Bees” from this latest album. I haven’t been the biggest Womack fan, so I can’t say what my favorite is, so I’ll go with that one for now.

  20. “I Found It In You”

  21. My favorites: A tie between “The Fool” and “A Little Past Little Rock”…..Have heard “I Hope You Dance” too many times! Never want to hear it again.

  22. Hey all the Lee Ann Womack fans out there! She started up her fan club again and it’s free. Check out http://www.lawsocialclub.com and you can even go backstage at a show near you.

See ya at the social club!!!
