Go Green with Big Kenny: Quiet Times… Album Giveaway

big kennyEdit: Thanks to all who entered. Kimberly was chosen as the winner and will be contacted via email.

We’re pleased to be able to offer one copy of the new album from Big Kenny, the cooler half of Big & Rich, to a lucky commenter. The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy, released this past Tuesday as a joint venture of Glotown/Love Everybody/Bigger Picture, overflows with the vibrant personality of its singer, who wrote or co-wrote every song, co-produced all the tracks in his own home studio, and released the album on his own label. If you want to know what’s in the heart of Big Kenny, this is it.

As an added bonus, the distinctive ‘flower power’ album packaging can be planted… and will sprout a medley of about 20 different types of flowers. That’s pretty cool.

To enter the giveaway, simply comment with one of your favorite songs about conservation or respect for nature. Alternatively, say something about how cool Big Kenny is and we’ll call it good. You have through next Friday (11/20) to enter, but I recommend getting your comments in early so you don’t let it slip your mind and miss the deadline (always happens to me).

I think that about covers it. Get posting, kids!

I got his cd a few days ago and it is pure epic just like Terri Clark’s The Long Way Home. You guys will love this cd, awesome songs, original melodies and great writing.

Big Kenny in my opinion is tons better than John Rich.

  2. Mike K says:

    “Paradise” – John Prine

Anything that Tom T. Hall, Johnny Cash, and Dwight Yoakam (not to mention John Denver) see fit to cover is good enough for me.

I’m interested to see what Big Kenny does out on his own.

  3. plain_jo says:

    Bigger Hands – John Anderson

  4. Jeremy Dylan says:

Big Yellow Taxi – Joni Mitchell. And I love that cover shot.

  5. Kim St.Marie says:

The world would be a better place if people would take a few pages from Big Kenny’s book

  6. Deb bohn says:

“Rocky Mountain High” – John Denver, inspires in me a better way to live. And if you’ve ever been there you know it, feel it. You come away with a part of nature that plants the seed (total pun!) of cleaner living so a place on earth like that doesn’t go away.

As for Big Kenny’s coolness – clearly he doesn’t only talk the talk, but he walks the walk of the message he sends – Love Everybody. THAT right there is what makes him the coolest! LE!

  7. Christopher Kreher says:

This album is what Big Kenny is about…his music and his life…

“Green River” by Alabama, 1990. Big Kenny, You ROCK! Your atitude, outlook, beliefs, ideals… MUCH admired. LOVE EVERYONE!! *peace* (had to re-post with correct e-mail! Sorry)

  8. Casey Keeshan says:

“Seminole Wind”-John Anderson- Excellent song about how people can destroy whole habitats.
As for Big Kenny, you’re a pioneer man. There is now better mantra than “Love Everybody” and “music without prejudice”. It should be mandatory for artists to follow in his footsteps on protecting the environment by demanding biodegradable packaging for CD’s and DVD’s. Make the world a better place for you and me! LE!!

  10. Jabs says:

    Earth Song – Michael Jackson

  11. Harley says:

big kenny is a very talented, amazing, and creative artist! his cd packaging idea is genius!

  12. Penny Webb says:

I think Big Kenny is the coolest guy in country music. I love that he is encouraging everyone to be green. What a Wonderful World is my favorite song that encourages conservation.
