Do It Yourself: On the Road with Jacob Jones

Jacob Jones is a folk singer-songwriter whose full-length debut, Bound for Glory, arrived on Electric Western Records earlier this year. Here’s a charming video travelogue of a quick five-day swing through Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas in October of last year. It will put you in the passenger seat of the RV that doubles as Jones’ home when he’s off the road, giving you a sense of what touring means when you don’t have eighteen buses and a full squadron of stylists. If nothing else, watch it for the soundtrack: “So Long Woman,” a rollicking kiss-off to a woman who’s more trouble than she’s worth, is one of many fine tracks on Jones’ debut. If you find it to your liking, consider supporting this indie by picking up the whole album.
