Well, some really talented gals make up 30% of this list thus far, so that’s a big plus in my book. Of these selections I only own the Holly Williams (thanks to Roughstock) and Patty Loveless (thanks to My Kind of Country) CDs, but they are indeed worthy of inclusion on this list. I might have to look for a cheap used copy of the Sara Watkins CD as I’ve heard her live recently on A Prairie Home Companion and Eddie Stubbs spins tracks from this album during his “Americana” segments on WSM. Good stuff!

Great! I’ll have to give the Church album more of a chance and good justification for the Loveless album. I like it a lot, but there are some holes in it that probably bring it down to the bottom of my top ten or just below it as well. I’m practically dying of anticipation for the top ten. I’ll try to hold on though.
