Country Album Releases for June 21

It’s not a whole country album, but Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” receives the Weird Al treatment on the humorist’s new Alpocalypse album. And I’m just enough of a nerd to care.

New posts, by email, whenever we’ve got ’em.

Really excited about the Larry Jon Wilson reissue! Another important release is Larry & His Flask’s “All That We Know”. They are the token weirdo string band on the current Warped Tour.

Go get that new Lauderdale album. It’s fab.

Standout track for me is ‘Not Let You Go’, which is creepy as hell.

Amazingly, the whole record was recorded in a single day at Randy Kohrs’ slack key studio.

Don’t let the fact that Corey Smith is labelmates with Colt Ford and Brantley Gilbert scare you off. It’s good stuff.

I saw Chip Taylor with Kendall Carson last Sunday night in his tour for the recently released “Rock & Roll Joe” Americana album. They performed a good number of songs off the album and the stand outs were “Hot Rod Carson” and “The Union Song” as they allowed Kendall to get in some good licks on her fiddle.

    Can’t say I care a whit about any of this week’s releases…
