Best Country Albums of 2010: Still in Progress

Back at the beginning of July, I posted a rough halfway list of the Best Country Albums of 2010, featuring my favorite 20 albums at that point.

Plenty has changed since then, so here’s an unranked list of albums not on the first list that I’ve been listening to quite a bit over the past few months. Some from the first half of the year that I overlooked the first time around, some released since then… all with a good or decent shot of slipping into the Top 20. Some will be there for sure.

Between both posts, you now have a pretty good idea of what’s in the running for my final list, though no idea how the rankings will shake out. Suspense!

Let me know if I’m overlooking anything awesome. I try to listen to everything that gets mentioned.

Amber Digby & Justin Trevino – Keeping Up Appearances
Tim O’Brien – Chicken and Egg
Joey + Rory - Album Number Two
Dale Watson – Carryin’ On
Jamey Johnson – The Guitar Song
Marty Stuart – Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions
Brennen Leigh – The Box
Jason Boland & the Stragglers – High in the Rockies
Junior Sisk & Rambler’s Choice – Heartaches and Dreams
Randy Houser - They Call Me Cadillac
Zac Brown Band – You Get What You Give

Require further investigation:
Carolina Chocolate Drops, Secret Sisters, Aaron Watson, Ryan Bingham, Patty Griffin, Teea Goans, Ken Mellons, Cherryholmes, Elvis Costello, Holly from East Tennessee (what is it with her, anyway?)
