Axl Rose is one of the most atrocious vocalists in popular music - his singing makes most GnR records unlistenable. Underwood and Britt are both far superior, and I'm by no means a huge Underwood fan.

a reply to steve harvey, you musnt listen to much of guns n roses then considering what words you have just uttered as you see AXL ROSE was the origional singer of those songs on every album, so you see that because appetite for destruction went to being one of the best recording and selling album of our time was due to not only the band but AXL ROSE's brilliant high pictched screeching voice, so if you don't like what hes doing with the new mixed lineup, chinese democracy or anything he wishes to do in the future then just dont listen and dont look upon news regarding any such thing as why bother when you will only slag him of and his material, but i wonder mate who is sleeping in a mega bucks mansion in a mega bucks bed and never worried about working another day in his life if i no axl and he was reading this i think hed laff at you !!!ha ha

All her records are great. Dusty Smiles she cut when she was about 16, so it's good, but up to the standard of her later work. Nice version of 'Big Rock Candy Moutain' though. Too Far Gone was produced by AJ's producer (Keith Stegall) and is fantastic. Little Wildflower was produced by Brett Beavers (Dierks Bentley) is slightly less awesome, but features her best vocals by far. But all three records are worth having.

I think I paid $25 or so for my Amazon import copy. Not usually one to spend that much on a CD, but I was desperate. I think it was worth it.

Paid a similar amount for Dusty Smiles & Heartbreak Cures. Good album, but not quite as worth it. Still haven't checked out her latest, Little Wildflower. (Cough... if some smart publicist would like to send a review copy to receptive ears...)

You know I take your recommendations very seriously, but it seems that that album is difficult to come by now. Couldn't find it on itunes, amazon or emusic. Well...I found used import copies on Amazon for like $44. I'm assuming you're not recommending it quite that highly.:)

You know, I saw Underwood live (opening for Randy Travis, incidentally) and her Guns n' Roses covers were about the only thing that made much of an impression on me. She does them well.

Slightly off topic: Catherine Britt's Too Far Gone album is fantastic.
