Country music. Seriously.

Arista Nashville Signs Kristy Lee Cook

Arista Nashville has announced the latest addition to its roster, a 25-year-old Oregon-based songbird by the name of Kristy Lee Cook. In an official statement, the label said: “We’re very excited to have this personable young woman join the Arista family. We think she’s just what country music needs right now – young, attractive, perfectly inoffensive. Kristy has had a couple trying experiences with major labels in the past… well, with one major label… it was Arista Nashville, in fact. Anyway, the point is that we’re excited to work with her. Again.”

In a separate statement posted on her website, Cook wrote: “So I signed with Arista Nashville again. Things have a funny way of working out sometimes! The first time I trusted them, they dropped me. I’m not going to lie: it hurt me. I went shopping around for another label, did the whole American Idol thing, and finally ended up back with Arista Nashville. They promised it would be different, then they dropped me again a few months later. That was probably one of the low points of my life. But this time they really promise it will be different! I’m their number one priority now. I hope you are all excited for this new chapter in my career! I know I am!”

Cook is reportedly so tight with Arista Nashville that she will be joining the entire staff at the christening of Carrie Underwood’s niece next weekend.

  1. Sometimes there can be a fine line between cruelty and satire, and CountryCalifornia fortunately doesn’t seem to care! Good show! (lol)
