How can you guys still take anything I post seriously? Well at least be thankful I didn’t toss in any digs at Obamavoters when talking about these countdowns, either of them!

If The 9513′s Top 100 List had been limited to one album per artist (plus an attached list of their other worthy offerings during the decade ranked in order of quality), and a Lonestar Flag symbol attached to each Texas artist it might have been darn near perfect! (lol)

So let me get this straight: a list with maybe three Texas artists in its top 50 and a state releasing as much country music as Texas shoring up somewhere around 10% of the best albums of the decade means the list is stilted? Seems to me that says more about the commenter than the list.

Also, if something like 60 unique artists on a list of 70 is too much overlap, you might have a point, but in this case you just need a good head bonkin’. I’d venture to guess CU has just as much overlap if not more, but don’t let things like facts stop your complaining.

Yeah, what Dan said. I think they’re different enough that people aren’t just reading the same thing over and over again between the two sites. I like that a lot and I’m seriously enjoying The9513′s countdown. And I’m not just saying that under my publicist’s guidance.:)

I like both lists, and I think both lists have their share of wonkiness. It’s just the kind of thing you have to expect when combining so many different tastes in pure numeric fashion. I’m hoping we at CU will get to post our individual lists so that people can can get a feel for how the separate parts of the list were reasoned before they were all combined. But with all the end-of-decade/year madness, who knows.

I have to admit all you Country Universe contributors compiled what I would call a more varied and interesting list of Top 100 Albums of the Decade than The 9513 gang. Well apart from the overtly commercial crap (ie Carrie & the Flatts) you’ve included, that is. I appreciate the “out of left field” artists and albums whereas The 9513 list contains soooo many albums from the same group of favorite artists it gets boring and predictable! Also, the Texas artist bias on The 9513′s list gives it a stilted approach to things as well. in the end neither list will likely sway me to purchase anything new, but it is a fun year end diversion!

Now let’s see if any of those 9513′ers come over here to scold me for my errors in judgment! (lol)
