- Ted Nugent thinks he can ‘fix’ country fans. Actually, he calls us country and western fans, but I corrected his wording since it’s no longer 1975.
- Aaron Tippin sure seems to like rereleasing his hits. This time Cracker Barrel is helping him. The album, due May 6, will be evenly split between new and old songs.
- 99.9 KISS Country out of North Carolina has a page of videos from a lunchtime concert series. Performers include Mark Chesnutt, Jake Owen, and Billy Currington. The Mark Chesnutt video runs 45+ minutes and is especially worth your time. Bored? Skip to 29:45 and hear someone request a Sammy Kershaw song. Embarrassing.
- Mark Chesnutt talks about his Texas roots, outsider status in Nashville, and upcoming album. The album, originally scheduled to hit shelves today, has been pushed back to June 24. It will include songs titled “Long Way to Go,” “Going On Later On,” and “Man in the Mirror” in addition to the two already-released singles (“Rollin’ with the Flow” and “When You Love Her Like Crazy”).
- An older news post on Mark’s website names a few other songs projected to be on the album. Although the site claims that “She Never Got Me Over You” is a heretofore unreleased song penned for Keith Whitley, it actually has been recorded and released previously. Ohio’s Scott Hisey, a great honky tonk singer in the Whitley mold, put it on his latest album. You can hear a clip of it on Scott’s website.
